We’ve spent a long time in IT, business, and the business of IT and people, right at the focal point of where all three meet: The Workplace. 

On-site, remote, or hybrid, the Workplace is a premise, some premises, and a concept now, whether physical or digital, real or virtual, and our experience of it shapes the way we do our work, collaborate and serve our clients and customers.

With backgrounds in leading, transforming and consulting with businesses of all shapes and sizes, with workplaces of all fabrics and flavours, we’ve heard the same intentions time and time again: We’re going to improve things, or even everything in the workplace.

But improve what? And how? Moreover, how many more sentences here will start with a preposition?

Where do we start? What’s next?

We found ourselves boiling more and more situations down to a simple question:

Now what?

  • We have all the data, what should we do with it?
  • We’ve come to understand the perceptions of the people in our business…how should we react to that?
  • We know we need to transform, adopt new ways of working, harness new solutions, but which one first?

Even if all of those questions all flip into Now Whats?, how about the whys? Why are we doing this?

  • To get people back in the office; to drive collaboration; to futureproof our workforce? Sometimes, just good old fashioned cost-takeout.
  • So, we took our whys and whats, and turned them into Now What? And BECAUSE.
  • Because We need to move the workplace forwards
  • We need our people to perform at greater productivity and peak performance
  • We need them to make the best possible use of the investments we’ve already made
  • We need to meet their expectations, which are are higher than ever before
  • We need to recruit the best people, recruiting is hard, and retaining people is even harder
  • AI is here, and pushing us to new potential, and we need to make good use of it before it gets the better of us.
